The Flourish Connection is a social and recreational group fostering friendships and connections through group-based activities and community projects for participants with a disability.

Social networks provide support, social influence, opportunities for social engagement and meaningful roles as well as access to resources and intimate one-on-one contact.

Belonging to a social network makes people feel cared for, loved, engaged and valued which has a powerful protective effect on health.

Greater levels of community participation, social support and engagement with others both in the community and within their social circle can over time be associated with reduced stress, through the building of trust and friendships which is the aim of The Flourish Connection.
